Hi Friends,
Welcome to Week #2 of the

DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #137

THEME:
 CHRISTMAS in July

I am still very fond of my imagine machine and find that it is still my go to machine I use it for cutting everything and I like the idea that it prints and then cuts.  This cut was from the Santa's village imagine cartridge.  I printed it and cut it out twice and then put it together. This was a very easy project.
To me, this cartridge is full of very scary images, I'm not  sure if this is really what Christmas toys use to look like, but I think  as a child these would have scared me.  Because I just love Christmas, you may enter this challenge as often as you like as long as the projects are Christmas related.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Any kind of thank you will do.  Have fun !!!

The challenge will open at 9:00 am July 24, 2014 and
will be open until 11:55 pm PST  August 5, 2014.

Hi Friends,

This is a different kind of blog hop, it is called "Getting to know me" I have been given four questions to answer. I was tagged by my good friend Lisa and I feel so humbled and honored that she picked me (if she hadn't already picked me, I would have picked her) She is an incredible sweet kind loyal Friend and artist.  Her work speaks for itself.   I would love for you to go see her designs  you will not be disappointed. Click here: http://indymermaid.blogspot.com. let her know you came from my blog. But while you are here see what I have to share with you and then make sure to visit the bloggers I have tagged and let them know you came from my blog.

These are the following questions I have been asked to answer.

 1. What am I working on?
I am always working on at least three projects at a time, and they very from season to season and what is trending.  Right now I am working on a painting for an art show, and a couple of Design team projects and a couple of Guest design spots.

 2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I am not sure what I create differs from others except, that I pray over each piece I create, that it would be blessed and be a blessing to the recipient.  I sell my work and I give it away, I try to keep it fresh and current, the funny thing is that sometimes current is retro.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I love it!!! I was created therefore I create. I feel alive, at peace and purposeful. I love to share what I do and encourage others. I love doing shows because people see your work and buy it and then someone else receives it as a gift and sees it.  It would do me no good if it just sat in a drawer and no one saw it.  We were all given gifts and we were given the gifts to share to bless other people, which blesses us in the same turn.

4. How does your writing/creating process work?
I get ideas and I write them down. It could be the color of something I see or an image.  Some times I get an idea and I sketch it out.
I really like multiples of projects and 3D projects, so when I come up with an idea that I like, I make a bunch of them.
For the three D process, I not only love seeing that paper can be formed into  incredibly detailed  buildings, ice creams and flowers, I find it very relaxing and therapeutic.

I made this little cake box for my mother, this year she loved it.
She liked it even more that I surprised her, by flying out to be with her and celebrate her birthday and Mothers day.

Made this for my niece, for Christmas and put goodies behind all the doors.

This one was a housewarming gift for the hostess

This was for our nephew for his #14 th birthday

This one was for our music pastor at our church when he retired.

I love experimenting with paint and colors.  Here are some of my favorites that I have made for my blog.
The Alice in Wonderland series were made using Creative inspiration products.

The following three was sponsored by Tombow USA celebrating a  100 years of Tombow

This was the very first project I made for my blog to enter a challenge.

This was my second  project I posted on my blog when I started it in January 2011. It was on display at the fungus fair and also in a group show at the Santa Cruz Art League of that year.  You can see my original post    HERE.

I have tagged my very first follower and blogger and good friend Gloria from Girlias Cards.
We were also teammates on the very first Design team I was on, Celebrate the Occasion.  Gloria helped me over a lot of blogger humps at the beginning and was and is very encouraging. She has a heart of gold and is as sweet as can be. I hope you will go see my sweet friends projects. Here is one to peak your interest. Oh and her favorite color is blue.  Here is a link to Gloria's blog........ Girlias Cards.
and here is one of her cute creations..

and my very second follower and  good friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces, has also been tagged by me. Karen makes the most luscious crinkle ribbon and gives it away if you are the winner of her challenge. Luckily I have won a few times.  She had also started a design team and asked me to be on it I was honored.  It was a lot of fun while it lasted. I urge you to go check Karen's blog out and you will not be disappointed, especially when you see the beautiful colors of her ribbon.
Here is a link to Karen's blog  - Little Scrap Pieces

In the same category of followers I became Cely's ( Hawaii Paper Party) second follower.

She is one of the sweetest people I know and so generous and kind.  I have been following her since the beginning and I actually was the winner of her 50 follower giveaway.  There were a lot of interesting items in the prize package, mainly island themed, I loved it, I think there was even a Hilo Hattie something in there.. Whenever I see Hello Kitty I think of Cely, which is really a lot, HK is everywhere. Here is one of her early treat bag posts...
but don't think that is all she does she is incredible when it comes to the copic markers-- Oh My Goodness...
go check her out for your self the link is above.

Did you noticed a theme here? Yes we are all friends of each other, I love my bloggy friends. They will each have posts up next Monday August 4th, so you can get to know them a little better.

Oh yes and in case you forgot who tagged me, it was Lisa. Here is one of her pieces and here is the link to her blog.  http://indymermaid.blogspot.com/2014/07/dream-as-if-youll-live-forever.html

Hi Friends,

When I started my blog in 2011, I saw a lot of blogs that gave things away and I liked that, not necessarily to be on the receiving end, but to give something to someone else, that would either cheer them up or make their life easier or more organized.  These were called random acts of kindness.   I had giveaways at the beginning,  then, I started having challenges on my blog which you have to participate in to win a prize. These are great and they are fun. But, wouldn't it be nice to  RECEIVE something FUN  in the mail that makes you happy at a time you need that pick me up the most, just out of the blue?

I will be doing RAK (random acts of kindness). If you would like to participate, GET ON THE LIST:
1. leave a comment-become a follower- send me your address and other  info.
There is a Random acts of kindness button with an orange envelope, click on that and fill out the info,  that is the list I will be using to send out RAK's You can find it at the bottom of this post or on my side bar under Random acts of Kindness
2. Let me know your favorite color--
3 Your favorite weather and
4. your favorite type of crafting, product and supplies, papers etc. The more info the better.

Put the RAK badge on your blog and link it back to this post

I have a lot of products and it is time to make room for new stuff.

I also wanted to mention I used the CTMH Close to My Heart July stamp of the month "Circus alphabet"to make my RAK badge. With a qualifying order you can receive this stamp set for only $5.00. Isn't that great?

You have 5 days to still get this stamp. I also used the new Shinhan markers to color the letters in.
After I photographed it, I realized I need to get my new eyeglass prescription filled. I colored out side of the lines ( oh my). Oh I will have more info on these markers for you, later,  I love them!!!

Have a blessed day, Diana

Good Morning Friends,

I have a lot of relatives and friends with birthdays in August. I thought I would make this one and enter a few challenges also. The cartridge I used is one of my favorites "YUMMY" for the imagine.the sentiment is from an SU stamp that my friend Cely gave me, the ribbon is from my friend Karen and the skittles and enamel dot are from my friend Carri. This card would be nothing without my friends. I added the faux stitching around the edge for a little more design.

I very rarely do these CAS cards, but this was a quick one and I love how it came out.  All cardstock is PTI. Stamped sentiment is from Asian Fusion and the ink is dark chocolate.  Although I would normally do these banners from scraps I did not find any scrap colors I wanted for this card so I trimmed a 7/8" of the top of the cardstock and then created each pennant to form the banner I used liquid glass to hold down the twine (from my ETSY store.

Hi Friends,

Before I begin, Today is the last day for the THANK YOU challenge (link is above)

I was going to post this yesterday  on my blog,  but the day got away from me.  When  I went out to put it in the mailbox I was talking to our postman.   A couple of months  ago,  he said hospice had come in to help his mother, I told him I was really sorry.

Yesterday I  was a little reluctant to ask but something inside of me said ask.  I asked, " How is your mom doing?" He said,  "It is a miracle, hospice was there for about five weeks and one of the people suggested changing her medication. Her medicine was changed and she is doing remarkably better."

Miracles happen every day--- we just need to keep our hearts and eyes open-- If I had not asked, I would not have seen the miracle.

I need to make a few more of these to have on hand.  I seem to say this, but always end up making them at the last minute
